The
Speech Therapy Department is comprised of licensed
and certified speech-language pathologists. Services include but
are not limited to identification, diagnosis, prevention,
counseling and treatment of speech, language, swallowing and
related disorders. Therapists may refer patients to local
physicians, clinicians and/or agencies when appropriate.
Therapists
counsel patients with these disorders as well as their families,
caregivers and other service providers, related to the disorders
and their management. They also teach, supervise and manage
clinical educational programs related to communication
disorders, swallowing and related areas. They also work
diligently to increase public awareness and advocate for their
patients.
